A new study found the amount of people who had no idea what they were getting into when signing up for credit cards has increased by more than 50 percent in two years.
The “discovery plus yearly subscription gift” is a plan that allows users to get a year of Discovery+ for free. The only downside is that the user must be subscribed to the annual plan.
Although Discovery+ does not offer an annual membership, you may still join up and pay for a year in advance. You’ll simply have to treat yourself to a membership instead. Buying and paying for a year in advance, however, will not result in any actual savings on the cost of a Discovery+ package unless there is a promotion going on.
Discovery+ debuted in January 2020, with two major plans available. The normal subscription, which costs $4.99 per month, gives you access to all of the Discovery episodes and material accessible via the service, although with advertising. The second option, which costs $6.99 a month, includes all of the same episodes as the first, but without the commercials.
Although these plans are already inexpensive, users to a service may generally save considerably more money over the course of a year by switching to an annual plan. The issue is that Discovery+ does not provide an annual plan when signing up, leaving customers with little choice except to pay monthly at the standard prices.

There is one exception to this rule: when there is a bargain going on. In February, for example, Discovery+ offered a 30-percent discount on a gift membership. The cost of the ad-free plan was essentially dropped to $4.99 per month, the same as the ad-supported version. Of course, there’s no way of knowing when Discovery+ will start one of these promos in advance, so it’s more of a once-in-a-while solution than a regular alternative.
For the record, the 12-month gift subscription isn’t the only one available. Consumers may also purchase and gift a single six-month membership via Discovery+. Again, this is exclusively for the ad-free plan, which costs $41.75 per month and comes out to around $6.96 per month.
